Group Fitness Class Descriptions
We offer a wide variety of group workouts for all ages and fitness levels.
Strength Training Classes
This is you hour of power! This 45 or 60 minute barbell program strengthens all of your major muscles in an inspiring, motivating group environment with fantastic music and awesome instructors. With simple, athletic movements such as squats, lunges, presses and curls, Group Power is for all ages and fitness levels. Discover real results, discover Group Power! SilverSneakers MSROM: Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activity for daily living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a ball are offered for resistance. A chair is used for seated and/or standing support.
Senior Cardio/Senior Active: This class is designed for active adults who seek more challenge in thier workouts than what is offered in our traditional SilverSneakers program. We start with a warm up and cardio exercises to work the legs and upper body. The class also includes exercise for balance, core training and finishes with stretches for the entire body.
Core & Yoga Training Classes
Core Training: Strengthen and sculpt your core with exercises that target the abdominals, obliques and the lower back. These exercises will reduce back problems and give you strong, sleek abs.
Yoga: This class uses traditional yoga principles and postures to help reduce stress, improve flexibility, balance and strength. You will leave feeling a better sense of well being.
Pilates Total Body: A full body workout using Pilates principles in every exercise. This class may use resistance bands, weights, stability balls to add variety and challenge to your Pilates training.
Cardio Vascular Training Classes
Cardio Kick Boxing: Burn Fat and build lean muscle while boosting your sense of empowerment. Kick, punch and jab your way to a firm body.
Bootcamp: A non-stop workout for maximum fat burning.
Cardio Cross Training: This class applies a technique that involves mixing a variety of exercise together for maximum muscle stimulation and calorie burning.
Cardio Blast and Core: This class includes easy-to-follow cardio drills followed by 10-15 minutes of core work to strengthen your abs, obliques and lower back. Movements may be high or low impact and options will be shown to make each exercise more or less challenging.
Step: A cardiovascular class using a step together with choreographed combinations to give you a complete aerobic workout. Intermediate to Advance class formats should not be taken by beginners or those limited by pregnancy or injury.
Cardio Step & Weights: Basic to intermediate step moves mixed with cardio and weight training intervals designed to burn calories and firm your body.
Senior Cardio: Increase cardiovascular and muscular endurance. Strengthen both your upper body with hand held weights, elastic tubing and a SilverSneaker ball. A chair is offered for support, stretching and relaxation exercises.
Senior Cycle: An easy and enjoyable bike ride meant to boost health and well being. (Pick up wrist band at front desk)
Group Cycle: This is a simple, fun and effective way to get in shap. Appropriate for men and women of all ages. Please pick up a wrist band at the front desk 15 minutes prior to class time to secure an open bike.
P90X Workout: This popular workout uses the advanced science of muscle confusion. The workout consists of short targeted cycles of cardio, resistance and ab core training. Maximize fat burning and muscle sculpting without plateauing.
Interval Cardio Cross Training: A high level interval class that combines cardio, strength and core training. This class is designed to tone muscle and strengthen your core while burning fat.
Body Blast: A great full body muscle endurance class designed to tone and tighten in all the right places.
ZUMBA Dance: It’s all about letting go and feeling the music. This class offers a variety of dance styles including Salsa, Meringue, Reggae and Hip Hop. Join the party and get the fun vibe going!
Elite Spinning: A highly motivating and challenging small group training experience. You will burn body fat, enhance cardiovascular health and increase muscular strength. A bike can be reserved for a class in a 6-week block at the cost of $10.00 pre-paid. Without a reservation, there is a $2.00 per class drop-in fee based on availability.
